River Great Ouse – Milton Ernest
Access the fishery through the locked gate opposite the entrance to the Bedfordia Estate. Follow the track to the designated parking area, then take the short walk to the river.
This classic upper River Great Ouse stretch offers a mix of shallow runs, deeper glides, streamer weed and overhanging trees, providing excellent habitat for a variety of species.
Target species: Barbel, Chub and Dace, with Barbel being the main attraction. Night fishing is permitted and often produces the best chance of catching the larger fish.
Please note: The two lakes passed on the access track are not part of the club’s fishery and contain no fish.
Keep an eye out for otters, which are regularly seen here, particularly during the early morning and late evening. Whatever your views on their impact, seeing one in the wild is always a memorable experience.
