We’ve had a very busy first half of the year on the match section with a number of matches full to capacity and a number of new faces joining us for both the weekdays matches and the main championship matches.
As we move into the autumn it good time to look back at the season so far.
The main championship is hotly contested as always. Previous championship winners Alan Bayman and Colin Rennison hold to top 2 places, Alan Gardner and Andy Zneimer have put in a number of strong performances this year and are hot on the heels of the leaders. With several matches left it is still very much up for grabs.
We’ e had some mixed results so far this year with some previously good venues providing disappointing sport such as Fairlands valley and Lake John but our first visit to Wold Farm was rewarded with very good feedback about the venue and general upkeep of the place.
Our evening league concluded with a very clear winner, Josh Blavins who entered 5 matches and won all 5. Demonstrating his worthiness, Josh drew the worst rated peg at Frogmore, peg 1, and won from it.. twice !
The main championship will pause at the end of November and resume in April but we have our winter silver series running from January to April and our Christmas match in December too, so plenty to keep everyone busy. This is the first year we are doing the silver series after regular requests for more traditional styles of fishing so please support this initiative.
