Roll up, Roll up

it's the VAC OPEN DAY

Building on the success of previous years, the VAC will this month once again throw open the gates of our Riverside Road fishery in St Albans.

Whatever your angling interest and whether you are a member or not, you and your family are more than welcome to come along, meet the teams from our match, specimen and trout sections plus the General Committee. It's bound to be another great day.

It's free entry and lot's to do even if it rains (like last year).

Please note, very limited parking on-site for the disabled and infirm only. We have additional parking available locally (see map above - set sat nav's to AL1 1JG).

For further details phone Mark Jones 07956 331707

As well as signing up on-line (see our Subscriptions page) you can now join 'over the counter' at the Verulam Angling Centre and pay cash, cheque or credit card.

In addition to the usual choices of adult, junior, partner, and family memberships we provide concessionary rates for over 65's and the disabled. Plus under 12's can fish for FREE when accompanied by a member.

Our membership process is based on an online secure database so we do encourage you to complete all your details via our Member Services link and then print-out and post your application with your payment. That way there's less risk of error with key details such as postal and email addresses. We also invite you to upload your passport-style photo which saves you having to print out your picture or use one of those booths.

Payment can be made via cheque or Postal Order and we also invite you to complete a Direct Debit form to make renews easier for future seasons. Currently we can only accept payment via credit card for over the counter sales. Payment via on-line banking will be introduced later this year.

Remember, that unless your email address is registered on Club DB, our membership database, we can't keep you up to date via e-news nor can we accept your application to join the VAC Forum. To check and update your details see the Subscriptions page

Don't be shy, send your catch pics to the webmaster...

Bellows Mill produced a bumper 22lb bag of roach to Barry Hicks recently with this 1.08 sample the best of the day.

Matt Young caught his first ever eel as part of his winning catch on a VAC match at The Warren recently. Keeping it in the weigh-sling proved  the biggest challenge.

'Rav', one of our friendly carp crew has had a good start to 2012 with some great specimens including this 'original' 20lb'er from Moor Mill

Jake Hughes has grown up on VAC waters and has an impressive tally of specimen carp to his name including this beauty from Moor Mill. Join our forum and talk to Jake and the other regulars for a few pointers. Unlike the fish, our members don't bite.
