Hurricane Lake

Lysander Park Fisheries

Hurricane Lake is one of a number of lakes, named after WWII warplanes in acknowledgement of the location on former RAF Sawbridgeworth.

This lake is just over an acre with nine pegs and is heavily stocked with carp up to 10lbs so getting a bend in your rod should be quite easy! Unfortunately, because of the size and the fact that we do not want to see it overfished we are opening the fishery on a pre-booked* basis so we can monitor its use and productivity.

Please note the following regulations.

  •          One rod only

  •          No keep nets (except matches).

  •          No night fishing

  •          No boats.

  •          Verulam AC general rules apply generally.

* Send a text to Barry Killinger on 07966 394717 or
email  informing of who you are, and when you are going to visit. This must be done on every visit so that we can monitor who is fishing and so we can also inform the bailiffs.

See Lancaster Lake for more details of location.
